The art classes at Western High School worked multiple months on this project! Wow! But, who are the people portrayed on the mural?
The mural consists of 9 significant historical artists. Some familiar to many students, some not so familiar. Let's dig deeper!
Ms. Lombardi decided to create a mural at Western High School featuring the 9 most influential artists in art history. She, Ava Bisset, and the multiple art classes gathered together to work on the 20 foot long mural.
The mural took about 2 years to be painted.
Yayoi Kusama, Frida Kahlo, Faith Ringgold, Jacob Lawrence, Vincent Van Gogh, Georgia O'Keeffe, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Salvador Dalí.
Ms. Lomabrdi, Ava Bisset, and the art classes at Western High School painted these murals.
The process of painting started in March 2023. The mural finished in March 2025 with an amazing ribbon cutting ceremony.
